Pantries and Backpack programs must have at least one representative at the program who is Food Safety certified by Connecticut Foodshare. This certification must be renewed every two years. The representative must be a regular volunteer or staff that picks up, transports and/or distributes food donations. Preferably, this would be a person that supervises those activities.
If the certified representative no longer volunteers or works at the program, a new representative must be certified within 60 days. Please notify your Network Relations Representative.

Then take the following multiple-choice test of food safety knowledge. Most people finish the test in less than 15 minutes. You will need to answer 25 of the 31 questions correctly to receive a Certificate of Completion.
Upon successful completion of this test, a Food Safety Certificate will be emailed to the email address entered below.
You can view the training guide and take the test as many times as you need to.
Please contact your Network Relations Representative if you need assistance.
